Mind
ur inquiry-based Mind pillar encourages your child to find joy in learning beyond the academic rigour of a traditional classroom. This pillar challenges your child to think differently about the world around them through the exploration of real-world and everyday life applications of abstract academic concepts.
Heart
Our Heart pillar supports your child’s individuality, authenticity, social-emotional learning, compassion, and empathy. Here we focus on guiding your child to be heart-centered first in order to find their place with compassion and empathy in the world around them.

This pillar is full of activities that help your child find the joy in movement, draw connections between their nutritious food and where it comes from, and build respect for their physical and emotional selves through self-care practices. Our Soul pillar will nurture the seeds of resilience and compassion and foster a sense of connectedness to not only to the outer world, but your child’s inner world. We aim to provide your child with accessible tools that will aid them in not only understanding, but maintaining a sense of connection to themselves and their truth.

Frequently Asked Questions
1) How long does it take to complete the activities?
Depending on your child, our activities take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes on average to complete. They are designed to be repeated whenever your child wishes!
2) How will I know if my child is learning successfully?
In Montessori we learn to trust the process and your child! Your child will show you they understand through the competition and repetition of activities. Resist the urge to quiz your child – let them explore!
3) Will my child need my help with the activities?
Many of the activities are designed for you to do together to help increase emotional connectedness. Each activity includes a 'guidance ranking' (low, moderate, or high guidance). These rankings are a guideline, as different children have different abilities.
3) What kinds of materials will we need?
Most of our activities can be done with basic, everyday materials you can find around your house. Every 12 weeks you will receive a materials list, so you know exactly what to have on hand.
4) What if I have more than one child?
HomeGrown is perfect for multi-children households. Children can help each other with the activities and work collaboratively together!
5) What if I’m not familiar with Montessori? Can I still do these activities with my child?
Absolutely! We believe that Montessori is for everybody and have designed HomeGrown to be accessible to all kinds of families.
