I really enjoy that it’s all laid out for me and I don’t have to do any thinking. I found that I actually can really get a lot out of an activity by reading about why this activity is so good for my kids. Everything is explained in really simple language so you can understand exactly all of the great things these activities are doing for your kids’ brains. We have just gotten so much out of this program and I really would recommend it to anyone who’s looking for things to do with their kids that don’t involve screens and don’t involve a lot of planning and effort.

~Abbi Nicol, Montessori Mom

Who We Are

Founded in 1996, The Clover School is an accredited Montessori school in Toronto, Canada that has served thousands of families with authentic Montessori education. In our 25 years of delivering the most powerful educational pedagogy of all time (in our humble opinion), there has been a common thread: parents want to know what they can do to keep the Montessori spark alive at home. These past two years, families have spent more time at home together than ever before, so we’ve decided it’s high time to start creating resources that help bring accessible Montessori into the lives and homes of more families. And thus, HomeGrown was born!

Meet our Montessori Team

Sandra Bosnar-Dale & Isabelle Kunicki (she/her)

Founders

Sandra and Isabelle have spent over two decades serving thousands of families as A.M.I certified Montessori educators. They are co-founders of The Clover School, where they developed their own approach to heart-centred Montessori programming that inspires creative, curious, resilient and innovative thinkers to lead with heart, and realize their limitless potential through a lifelong journey of learning. Their signature curriculum combines Montessori essentials with heart-centred learning practices designed to nurture the mind, heart, health, and soul of each child. As thought leaders in the alternative educational movement, Isabelle and Sandra pride themselves in helping families around the world make a commitment to child-centred, active learning, fostering good citizenship, kindness and leadership, and modelling wellness.

Lindsay Brown (she/her)

Lead Educator

Lindsay is a passionate educator. She has worked in Montessori schools for 7+ years and holds two Montessori teaching diplomas. She trained for her elementary (6-12) diploma in Bergamo, Italy at the Fondazione Centro Internazionale Studi Montessoriani (FICSM) in 2014, before moving to san Diego to receive her primary (3-6) diploma at the Montessori Institute of San Diego. She has worked with children of all ages and loves to share her Montessori knowledge with families and children. Lindsay has a degree in fine art from the Ontario College of Art and Design University in Toronto. She has seen how children of all ages love to express themselves creatively, and loves creating art based activities to inspire young learners.

Alexandra Yustin (she/her)

Lead Educator

Alexandra is a dedicated and enthusiastic educator. She has worked in both the Montessori and the public education sector in Ontario for the past 8 years. She received her Montessori Early Childhood Educator diploma (MACTE) in 2016 through the Newborough Teacher Training Institute in Toronto, while teaching Casa (children aged 2.5 – 6). Alexandra holds a Master of Education from Yorkville University, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Psychology and a Bachelor of Education in Primary/Junior education from Brock University. Alexandra loved guiding children through the Montessori program and decided to pursue teaching Special Education using her Montessori background. She watched children with Autism, Down Syndrome and other special needs begin to learn to read and write while working with the physical materials of the Montessori program. Alexandra’s goal is to show families around the world how to free their children’s potential using Montessori methods.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to complete the activities?

Depending on your child, our activities take anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes on average to complete. They are designed to be repeated whenever your child wishes!

Will my child need my help with the activities?

Many of our HomeGrown activities are designed for you to do together to help increase emotional connectedness. Each activity includes a 'Guidance' ranking (low, moderate, or high guidance). The activities in this bundle have been specifically selected to require little guidance from you, though keep in mind that these rankings are a guideline, as different children have different abilities.

How long do I have access to the activities?

Once you purchase the Loving Kindness bundle, you will be granted lifetime access to the parent portal. Each of the activities can also be downloaded, as well as printed if you like to keep physical copies!

What kinds of materials will we need?

Most of our activities can be done with basic, everyday materials you can find around your house. We provide a handy materials list, so you know exactly what to have on hand.

How are the activities screen-free? Do you mail me anything?

No snail mail required! The activities are all immediately available to you digitally through the parent portal (have a peek inside above), and are meant to act as a resource for you to help your child work through the activity. The activities are not completed digitally or in front of a screen. These are real-world, hands-on activities that need a little bit of preparation and guidance from you, but no screen time for your little one.

What if I have questions? Is there support available?

Yes! You can reach out to us any time at [email protected] with any questions about the activities. We also have a HomeGrown Community on Facebook where you can interact with our Lead Educators and get support from other Montessori-aligned families like yours!

What if I have more than one child?

HomeGrown is perfect for multi-children households. Children can help each other with the activities and work collaboratively together!

What if I’m not familiar with Montessori? Can I still do these activities with my child?

Absolutely! We believe that Montessori is for everybody and have designed HomeGrown to be accessible to all kinds of families. If you want to learn more about Montessori, our monthly webinars will offer deeper insight into the Montessori method, and help guide you to implement aspects of a Montessori into your home environment and lifestyle!

Could I just find these activities online for free?

It's possible that with some digging, research, and a lot of time, you might be able to come up with something similar. However, these activities have been specially created by trained educators to be Montessori-aligned. With every activity, you get not only what to do, but why we're doing it, and what outcomes we're looking for. Our goal is to take the hard work away from you and provide the opportunity for pockets of intentional time for you to spend connecting with your child.

Stress Less, Connect More

We've done all the hard work so that you can channel the precious spare time you have into quality time with your little one.
